No More Kibble for Me!
April 4th, 2007 by BuddyMom told me today that there’s no more kibble for me! It must have something to do with the violent diarrhea I have today (starting at 3am this morning!). So she started me on simple boiled chicken and oatmeal to help fix the pooing problem. Can I just say - YUM!!!! Mom has joined a number of internet groups and natural dog forums/publications to learn as much as she can about home-cooked meals for dogs. It’s totally different than treats because the meals have to be nutritionally complete while treats need to be healthy and yummy. I know Mom’s going to feed me lots of great food because her treats are wonderful. If her treats taste so wonderful, I know my food is going to be yummy too.

What have you been able to find out about home-cooking for the doggies? I’m starting to think about it myself. It may be a lot of trouble, but as least I’d know what I was feeding them!

I decided to go with raw feeding rather than homecooking, and I started that about 3 weeks ago. Then, Doug and I got a new puppy 2 weeks ago, and I’ve been so busy with her. She’s on raw too. All three dogs are doing great with it. It’s really easy (compared to home-cooking), and the dogs love the food. I’ve actually started a blog about it at http://rawdogs.blogspot.com/. I haven’t gotten into too many of the specifics yet, but I plan to.
