My name is Buddy, and I’m a Chiweenie. In other words, I’m a mix between a Chihuahua and a Daschund. Some may call me a designer dog, and some may call me a mutt, but I’m a special little guy, and I don’t ever forget it!
I was born in June 2005, and I was adopted by my mom, Dawn, in February 2006 when I was 8 months old. My original parents couldn’t keep me because they were in the military, and they had to leave the US abruptly. This made me sad at the time, but I’m happy about it now! I love my family, and I am spoiled to bits.
My Family
I have a wonderful family that keeps me on my toes all day - not much time for lounging around here. My mom’s name is Dawn, and she is the one who spoils me the most (probably because she loves me the most!). Mom has a great business where she makes and sells organic gourmet dog treats, handmade doggie spa products, designer jewelry for dogs, and the most comfy, softest blankets ever. You can check out her stuff at The Swanky Pooch. If I’m really good, I get to be her taste-tester when she makes new treats.
My dad’s name is Doug, and he pretends to be a tough guy, but I walk all over him, literally! See?
I spend lots of fun hours playing with Amy and Adam, mom and dad’s other kids. Amy loves to dress me up in doggie clothes and carry me around in a purse. Adam loves to chase me around and play fetch with me. They’re alot of fun for two-legged kids.
Things I Like to Do
- Sleep in mom and dad’s bed, usually pressed against mom’s back
- Drive in the car with mom to get the kids after school
- Walk with my friend Ripley and his mom Melina
- Lounge on the couch
- Play fetch
- Taste test mom’s treats
- Play chase with Penny

Hi! I just wanted to say that I think your blog is adorable! I was just searching around for chiweenie -oriented sites and came across this one. I have recently decided to breed chiweenies, as I’ve discovered that they are quite possibly the perfect breed of dog LOL. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and let you know that there are plenty of others that love chiweenies out there!

Budd is adorable and so is Daisy.
I rescued a chiweenie too although I had no clue that was what she was. Now I know there are so many of them out there and I wish that people would rescue them and not breed them. I am glad you are doing well after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
